Terms of service
Effective 11 October 2026.
These terms are an agreement between you and The Ravenshield Corporation (New Zealand) Limited, company number 6576355 (“Qunei”, “we”, “us”) for the use of qunei.ai. The short version: your books are yours, we keep them safe and readable, and if you stop paying you lose the ability to write, never the ability to read.
The service
Qunei is a double-entry ledger operated through your AI agent. A ledger is one set of books; a workspace is the account that owns your ledgers, your users, and your billing. Entries land in append-only plain-text files that belong to you. A bank feed is an optional connection you authorise through Akahu; Qunei only ever reads from it. Bank feed data comes from your bank through Akahu as it is, so check it against your bank statements.
Your workspace
- Keep your password and access tokens safe. Actions taken with them count as yours.
- You authorise and can revoke a bank connection at any time. Connect only accounts you have authority over.
- You choose which agents to connect and which users to invite, and what role each user holds on each ledger. What they do within those roles is between you and them.
- Give us accurate account information and keep it current.
- Use the service lawfully, and do not attempt to break, probe, or overload it.
Price and payment
The plan is NZ$10 per ledger per month, +GST. We are GST registered, GST number 124-915-643. GST is included in the checkout price and shown on your invoice. Customers outside New Zealand are billed US$10 per ledger per month, with no GST. Billing runs as a subscription through Stripe. Your bill follows the number of active ledgers in your workspace, with fair proration when that number changes mid-month. Archiving a ledger reduces the bill. Every new workspace starts with a 30-day free trial, no card details required. We will give you at least 30 days notice of any price change.
Our promises to you
These are commitments, not fine print:
- On lapse, read-only, never locked out. If your trial ends without a subscription, if payment lapses, or if you cancel: your workspace becomes read-only. You keep signing in, your users keep their access, and every read, report, and export keeps working, indefinitely.
- Nothing is deleted. A lapse never deletes a ledger, an entry, or an invoice. Deletion happens only when you ask us for it.
- Your data can always be read and exported. Your books are plain-text files. You can take a complete, legible copy of every ledger at any time, in any billing state, at no charge.
- A missed payment gets grace. If a payment fails, writes keep working for 3 days while we warn you and retry, before the workspace goes read-only.
- Disconnecting a bank never deletes your entries. Revoking a bank connection removes our access at the bank and nothing from your books. If your workspace stays read-only for 30 days, we end our access to its bank connections; your books stay. Seeing and revoking your bank connections keeps working even when your workspace is read-only.
Your books are your responsibility
Your agent stages and posts entries on your instructions; you review them. Qunei is software, not an accountant: nothing in the service is tax, accounting, or legal advice, and you remain responsible for the accuracy of your books and for meeting your own filing obligations.
Availability
We run the service with reasonable skill and care, and we tell you honestly when something breaks. Qunei is a young product: the service is provided as-is to the extent New Zealand law allows. If you use the service for business purposes, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply. Bank feeds depend on your bank and on Akahu. Under New Zealand's regulated open banking, business-account coverage at ANZ, ASB, BNZ and Westpac is incomplete until 1 June 2027, so some business accounts cannot be connected before then.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability under this agreement is capped at the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss.
Ending the agreement
You can cancel at any time; your workspace goes read-only at the end of the period you have paid for, and the promises above keep applying. You can also ask us to delete the workspace entirely. We may suspend or end the agreement if you materially breach these terms, and we will tell you why.
Changes and governing law
If these terms change, we will post the new version here and give you notice before it takes effect. This agreement is governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any dispute belongs to the New Zealand courts.
